Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Gebal Systems Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use the Prolance or Prolance Business mobile applications ("the Apps"). We are committed to complying with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Canadian privacy law.

By using the Apps, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Who We Are

Prolance is operated by Gebal Systems Inc., a company based in Canada.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: We collect the information you provide when you create an account, including your name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a one-way encrypted hash — your actual password is never stored).

Business Information (Contractors): Contractors may provide a business name, business number, business address, and team size. Business addresses are geocoded to enable map and scheduling features.

Client Information (Contractors): Contractors may add client records containing a name, phone number, email address, and service address. This information is used solely to provide service management features.

Job and Service Data: We store information about jobs, services, schedules, and related activity created within the App.

Location Data: With your permission, the App may access your device's GPS location to support route navigation, worker tracking, and job site verification. Location access is optional and only requested in context.

Photos and Media: With your permission, the App may access your camera or photo library to attach images to job records. Images are uploaded to our servers and stored securely.

Device and Usage Data: We collect your device's Expo push notification token to deliver job-related push notifications. We do not collect device identifiers, analytics, or advertising data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and operate the Prolance and Prolance Business apps, including: creating and managing your account; enabling scheduling, client management, and job tracking; sending push notifications related to your jobs; sending SMS or email verification codes for account security; processing payments via Stripe; and improving and debugging the App.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for advertising or share it with third parties for marketing.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Apps: Twilio (SMS delivery), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (payment processing — PCI-DSS compliant, we do not store card numbers), Expo (push notifications), and Nominatim/OpenStreetMap (address geocoding — no personal data transmitted beyond the address string).

Each of these services has their own privacy policy and data handling practices.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and associated data is permanently deleted from our systems. Some data may be retained in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before being purged.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, bcrypt hashing of passwords, and access controls on our servers. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights (PIPEDA)

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, withdraw consent and request deletion of your data, and file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

8. Children

The Apps are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the version number and date above. Continued use of the Apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
